1.Tenteko Matsuri 天下の奇祭~てんてこ祭 (Nishio City)
A festival held on the 3rd of January every year to pray for an abundant harvest, A procession of men dressed in red costumes with a daikon carved to resemble a phallus hung from their waists, walk through the neighborhood, thrusting their pelvises to the rhythmical accompaniment of taiko drums.

- WHERE: Niike Hachiman-sha Shrine (熱池八幡社) in Nishio City (西尾市), Niike-chō Jinden 103 (熱池町神田103) and surrounds MAP
- HOW TO GET THERE: From Nishio Sta. (西尾駅) on the Meitetsu Nishio Line (名鉄西尾線), take the Meitetsu Tōbu Kōtsū Bus (名鉄東部交通バス) bound for Isshiki (一色) to Niike (熱池) Bus Stop, from which the venue is a 5-minute walk. Or a 12-minute walk southwest from Fukuchi Sta. (福地駅).

2. Festival Ninja 2020 忍者フェスティバル2020 (Chubu Centrair International Airport)

3. “NAGOYA MEETS NEW HISTORY” Nagoya Castle Night Visit by 1 → 10 (Nagoya City)
Under the concept of NAGOYA MEETS NEW HISTORY, please enjoy the gorgeous light effects and local food productions and culture, including the projection mapping of a huge historical picture scroll that represents Nagoya’s past, present and future.

- HOW TO GET THERE: From Nagoya Station, take the Sakuradori Subway Line to Hisayaodori Station (5 minutes) and change to the Meijo Subway Line to Shiyakusho Station (2 minutes). From the nearest exit, it is a three minute walk to the castle’s east gate.

4. Laguna Ten Bosch Winter Illumination ラグーナテンボスイルミネーション (Gamagori City)
Check out The Laguna Ten Bosch theme park winter illumination. You will enjoy the spectacular water mapping show, a great light up with flower art and more.

- HOW TO GET THERE: From Nagoya station take the JR Tokaido Main Line to Gamagori Station. Then take the free shuttle bus (15 min.) to Laguna Ten Bosch.

5. Kirameki Meijimura きらめき明治村 (Inuyama City)
Kirameki Meijimura is a sparkling lights experience in an open-air Meiji Mura Architecture museum.
- WHEN: November 2 (Sat.) to January 13th (Mon.)
- HOURS: 16: 00 – 19: 30
- WHERE: Museum Meijimura (博物館明治村), Inuyama City (犬山市) MAP
- HOW TO GET THERE: From Nagoya Station take the Meitetsu Train Line to Inuyama Sta. (犬山駅). Take the East Exit (東口) and transfer to the Gifu Bus (岐阜バス) bound for Meiji-Mura (明治村). Get off at the final stop; You can take also the Meitetsu bus to Meiji-Mura (Departure times 8:40, 9:40 weekdays; 8:45, 9:40, 10:40 on weekends and national holidays).
- PRICE: Adults 1,700 yen, child from 1,000 yen to 600 yen. Admission after 16:00: Adults 1,000 yen, child 500 yen.
6. Shirotori Garden New Year’s Tea Ceremony 白鳥庭園 新春茶会 (Nagoya City)
Shirotori Garden is a Japanese garden with many tea rooms where you can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. *Free admission if you come dressed in kimono.

- HOW TO GET THERE: Take subway Meijo line to Jingu Nishi station. From the exit number 4 you will arrive within 10 minutes walk.

7. Kota Giant Kite Festival こうた凧揚げまつり (Gamagori City)
Many kites from all over the country gather in this festival.

- HOW TO GET THERE: From Nagoya Station take the JR Tokaido Main Line and get off at Koda Station. Transfer to a shuttle bus and you will arrive within 10 minutes.

8. Kawabun Cultural Night 河文カルチャーナイト (Nagoya City)
Held in the oldest Nagoya’s Japanese restaurant, Kawabun Culture Night is a special event aimed at anyone, whether Japanese or foreigner, who has the curiosity to know how is the traditional world of geishas.

- HOURS: 21:30 – 23:00

- HOW TO GET THERE: Take the Sakura Doori subway line or Meijo subway line and get off at Marunouchi station. 7 minutes walk from exit number 4. Or take the Higashiyama subway line (the yellow line) to the Hisaya Odori station. 8 minutes walk from exit number 1.

9. Kitano Tenjinsha Brush Festival 北野天神社筆まつり (Konan City)
There is a procession with a giant brush that is carried to Kitano Tenjin Shrine, a shrine that is dedicated to a god of learning.

10. Momotaro Setsubun Festival in Momotaro Shrine 桃太郎の節分祭・桃太郎神社 (Inuyama City)
Enjoy the Setsubun Festival at Momotaro Shrine, the children’s guardian god.
